Special weather statement in effect for:
- Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
- Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
- Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County
Freezing rain likely late Saturday night into Sunday morning.
A fast-moving low pressure system currently over New Mexico will cross the Great Lakes tonight into Sunday. It will spread another round of precipitation across the region overnight and Sunday morning. The precipitation will likely begin as some freezing rain overnight, and may persist for a few hours before changing to some rain Sunday morning. Although ice accumulations should be relatively light, cold untreated surfaces will likely become glazed and slippery in the overnight hours and Sunday morning before temperatures rise above freezing.
Freezing rain warnings may be issued as the event approaches.
