Freezing rain expected beginning this morning and ending later this afternoon.
Periods of ice pellets or freezing rain are expected to move into Southwestern Ontario this morning and advance eastward to reach the Golden Horseshoe later this morning. A brief period of snow may precede the freezing rain, but any snowfall accumulations are expected to be minimal.
Although the freezing rain will likely persist for several hours today, ice accumulations are expected to limited to a few millimetres at most as the freezing rain should be fairly light.
The freezing rain will change to flurries later this afternoon or early evening.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays.
