Guelph Humane Society - Volunteers Wanted!

The Guelph Humane Society started in 1893 to provide care and shelter for homeless, stray and abused animals. Some of the programs that they provide include: 

  • sheltering and adoption of stray or unwanted animals  
  • helping lost animals return home  
  • animal/wildlife advice  
  • dog and cat tagging 
  • pet visitation  
  • humane education  
  • animal by-law enforcement  
  • animal distress and/or cruelty investigations 
  • March Break and summer camp children's programs 

The Guelph Humane Society are always looking for volunteers for all departments in their organization. Some examples of the volunteer positions available include:

  • Avian Enricher
  • Small Animal Nurturer and Trainer
  • Feline Well Being Assistant
  • Cleanliness Cat Crew/Canine Cleanliness Crew
  • Companion Animal Chauffeurs
  • Canine Enrichment Specialists
  • Canine Companion
  • Wildlife Rescue Driver
  • Event Volunteers

Hours of Operation:

Monday to Friday 9 am - 6 pm
Saturday 9 am - 5 pm
Closed from 9 am -12:30 pm on the last Wednesday of each month for shelter staff training.

Animal Viewing:
Monday to Friday 11 am - 5:30 pm
Saturday 11 am - 4:30 pm
