Mosquitos in Waterloo region test positive for West Nile virus

No human cases reported but virus is present, public health says

Public health officials have confirmed the first mosquitos to test positive for the West Nile virus this season in Waterloo region. 

Three mosquito surveillance traps, located in Cambridge, Kitchener and Wilmot Township, have returned positive results, the Region of Waterloo said Monday in a release. 

So far there have been no reported human cases.
