Strong winds, heavy rain possible Thursday evening, Environment Canada says
CBC NewsA severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Waterloo region, Guelph and Wellington County for Thursday evening.
The advisory from Environment Canada says "conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and torrential rain."
Wind gusts could reach 110 km/h in some spots and torrential rainfall could bring more than 50 mm to parts of the area. Nickel-sized hail is also possible.
