Special weather statement in effect for:

• Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
• Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo

Winter returns with total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm this afternoon and tonight.

A cold front and associated weak low are expected to move slowly across Southern Ontario today. This frontal zone is forecast to become active and generate appreciable snow in some areas. It will begin this afternoon over portions of the Golden Horseshoe and continue this evening before tapering off later tonight.

Motorists and commuters should plan for accumulating snow for the commute later this afternoon and evening. Poor winter driving conditions are expected.
