In order to help women who cannot afford feminine hygiene products, Tampon Tuesday was started by CTV London in April 2009.

The owner of Smitten Apparel in Guelph, Ontario, Holly Mastrogiacomo decided to bring the event to Guelph, Ontario. Her shop offers a 5% discount on purchases and a ballot entry to win a gift certificate when you donate an item.
