Transition Guelph was formed in May 2009 and consists of citizens volunteering to promote projects and processes that will strengthen their community.
Some of the projects that are underway include:
- Backyard Sharing - bringing together people with space in their backyards with those who would like to garden but do not have the space
- Guelph Community Orchard Project - planting edible trees in urban areas
- Urban Sugaring Project - teaching tree owners in Guelph how to create maple syrup
- Guelph-Wellington Time Bank - a group of people using volunteering to exchange skills and help
