Transition Guelph - Addressing Community Issues

Transition Guelph was formed in May 2009 and consists of citizens volunteering to promote projects and processes that will strengthen their community.

Some of the projects that are underway include:

  • Backyard Sharing - bringing together people with space in their backyards with those who would like to garden but do not have the space
  • Guelph Community Orchard Project - planting edible trees in urban areas
  • Urban Sugaring Project - teaching tree owners in Guelph how to create maple syrup
  • Guelph-Wellington Time Bank - a group of people using volunteering to exchange skills and help
